Elemental Iron (Ferrous Bisglycinate)
17mgFerrous bisglycinate is a chelated form of iron with the amino acid glycine and is much better tolerated compared to traditional iron salts. It minimizes gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, constipation). Plays a critical role in oxygen transport as part of hemoglobin and myoglobin structure. Also serves as a cofactor for enzymes involved in energy production.
Vitamin C
80mgA synergistic component that significantly enhances iron absorption. Converts non-heme iron (plant-based) to the ferric form, increasing intestinal absorption by 2-3 times. Also provides antioxidant protection, reducing oxidative stress that may occur during iron metabolism.
